P.A.I Apartment

Status: Completed

A light, high-floor flat where a sage-green bathroom and a terrazzo kitchen do the talking, and everything else is kept pale: herringbone oak, white plaster and arches.

The main room runs along the windows and holds the whole day: the bed, a sofa on a round green rug and a round table looking out over the city. An arch leads into it from the corridor, and a black steel-framed glass door lets the kitchen borrow light from the hall.

The colour is spent in two places. The kitchen takes a terrazzo floor and splashback against black appliances; the bathroom takes sage-green tile to half height, a freestanding bath, a fluted basin and brass taps. Fluted round tables, cane chairs, oak shelves and brass wardrobe handles keep the rest warm, under a black track of spotlights.
